WORD: Rap, Politics & Feminism

I’ve been published in several journals and I authored a book in 2003 called “WORD: Rap, Politics & Feminism.” I have also been attributed as being one of the first writers to quote rap music lyrics in the context of literary scholarship and cultural studies.

My background includes contributing editor (The Journal of African/Black Writing), editor-in-chief and online editor (Machete ‘Zine). Currently I’m the online editor for VIVID Identity (VIVID.ID), an online magazine for the International Black Women’s Film Festival (http://www.ibwff.com).
